Sen. Tim Kaine responds to $810 million in blocked federal funding

"Sen. Tim Kaine responded to the Trump-Vance administration blocking $810 million in federal funding that had already been approved by Congress.

Programs related to education, health research and immigration are among those that could be affected statewide.

'They are canceling domestic programs at the same as they’re trying to get us to increase the Pentagon’s budget by 40%,' Kaine said.

Kaine suggested Congress pass a law that would add more protections against the president withholding money moving forward."
