Gateway to Careers Act gets second look in U.S. Congress

"Americans may soon have more access to workforce training and connections after U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), along with U.S. Sens. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), reintroduced the Gateway to Careers Act on May 20.

This bipartisan legislation would help American workers learn new job skills, move up in the workforce and help businesses find the skilled workers they need to expand.

'We need to do more to expand economic opportunity for everyone, including through innovative solutions to ensure that Americans have the skills and resources they need to enter the workforce,” Kaine said. “I’m proud to introduce this legislation to bridge the gap between workers and businesses and help ensure people can find good-paying jobs.'"
