Senator Kaine discusses workforce development ideas with Halifax County leaders

"Senator Tim Kaine met Halifax County leaders and employers inside the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center Wednesday afternoon.

Together, they discussed how to continue growing employment opportunities across Southside.

'When I was here as Governor, the issue was "How do we get investments and how do we get employers to come in," and it’s a very different discussion (Wednesday),' Kaine said. 'The level of investment in Southside is very high, and the employment opportunities are really growing.'

Kaine said that with that growth comes new challenges."
