Kaine Tours Small Businesses In Herndon With Community Leaders

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine joined Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel, town officials and local business owners today for a tour of Herndon small businesses. During the tour, Kaine discussed steps he has taken – including his support for the Marketplace Fairness Act and his work to pass a Senate budget – to provide greater certainty and a level playing field for small businesses throughout the Commonwealth. Today’s tour included stops at the Green Lizard Cycling, ArtSpace Herndon, Soliloquy Bridal Couture, Stout and Teague, Unique Reflections Barber Shop, Maude Hair Salon, and Jimmy's Old Town Tavern.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of communities like Herndon all across Virginia. Today's tour was a great opportunity to hear from local business owners about what I can do in this new role to help them grow and thrive,” Kaine said during the tour. “It was great to hear from Mayor Merkel and other community leaders and I look forward to taking their thoughts and suggestions back to Washington. This is a really vibrant community.”

In addition to his tour of Herndon, Kaine has visited Emporia, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Waynesboro, Falls Church, and Leesburg this year to discuss economic revitalization and support for small businesses through the Marketplace Fairness Act
