Kaine Statement on the Second Anniversary of the Shooting in Tucson, Arizona

Richmond, VA – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) released the following statement on the second anniversary of the shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

“Today we remember and pay tribute to those lost in the tragic shooting in Tucson, Arizona on January 8, 2011. Both the horror, as well as the heroism, of that day will never be forgotten. Our Commonwealth knows too well the pain of senseless gun violence. Today’s anniversary, along with the recent tragedies in Connecticut and Colorado, serve as tragic reminders that we must do more to keep our communities safe. I look forward to working with my new colleagues in the Senate and sharing lessons learned in Virginia to establish comprehensive and common sense measures to do so.”
