Kaine Applauds Passage of Bipartisan Resolution Condemning Global Rise of Antisemitism
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement applauding the passage of a bipartisan resolution he co-sponsored condemning recent antisemitic incidents in the United States and around the world. The resolution also calls on leaders to denounce antisemitism and take specific steps to address it and prevent it.
“In recent years, the prevalence of racism and antisemitism across our communities has risen at an alarming rate and we must do more to put an end to it,” said Kaine. “I was proud to support this bipartisan resolution and glad to see it pass the Senate today. With the passage of this resolution, we are sending a clear message that the United States unequivocally condemns all forms of antisemitism and leaders everywhere must do their part to prevent this hate.”
The introduction of the resolution was led by Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and James Lankford (R-OK) and was supported by 58 Senators, evenly divided by party, including Kaine. The full resolution is available here.
Kaine is also a member of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, which also includes 58 Senators, with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans. First launched in 2019, the Task Force is the first of its kind in the United States Senate.
